Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1)Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

This was taken from goodreads.com/jess_readerwriter, I wrote the review freely and I apologize if the reviews are not written in a professional manner.

Synopsis: For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

My rating: 5 stars of 5
Fast paced
Action packed
Interesting plot
Original
Little romance

This book, ah, just amazing. At one point in time, I went to Half Priced books almost everyday (My sister had dance class and her studio was on top of a Half Priced Books. I had to tag along whenever she had class and I didn't mind it.), I bought a book everytime I went there. I began to start this huge collection of books that I kept putting off because "I didn't have the rest of the series" or "I have to finish this book first!". Well, Hush, Hush happened to be one of those darling books shoved on my bookshelf.

So, recently I made a list of the books I needed to read. Finally, I had gotten to this book. I'm kicking myself in the ass because I should've read it earlier.

Now I'm not going to give you some huge synopsis (I'll try not to) but, so much happened in this book that I almost don't know where to begin!

Nora lives in boring Coldwater, Maine. Her mother is often out of town because of work and her father was murdered. During Biology class, her seats were switched and a mysterious boy, who never talked much, is her new partner. Patch, which is technically a nickname, knows exactly how to get under her skin and piss her off. And, he does just that. But after strange occurances, Nora is beginning to think that Patch is stalking her and is definitley not who he says he is.

The story continues with so many twisties and turnies and a secret about Nora is revealed that I didn't see coming. Yet, at the same time, I feel I should have. Another huge secret is revealed about Patch that left me sitting here like, "Woah, what?!".

The only thing I didn't like about the book was the fact that Patch was a downright jerk to Nora for the first 200 or so pages.

Pretty much, what I thought about the book, with no sugar added was: It was amazing. Almost flawless. Almost. The romance was lacking, although, in this particular situation, I didn't mind it. The way things were worded confused me a little bit and I had to go back and reread sections to understand more. It was fast paced and had action from the beginning. No, maybe not even action, there was just a pull. A pull in the story that just made you want to read more and more. Incredible.

Time for me to move onto Crescendo.
